It’s been a crazy few months for me. Lots downs, and recently many ups. I was recently given a very nice opportunity to work with a very influential man. His name is Rock Hackshaw, and for those of you who don’t know him, he’s a very influential part of Brooklyn politics. He’s a lecturer and a blogger (see: Room8, The Daily Gotham, etc.).
Rock has given me the position of Campaign Manager. I know many people don’t envy me, but I do want to thank him for presenting me with such a challenging and exciting position. So you guys will be hearing A LOT from me very soon. Stay tuned.
I’m back. February 2, 2009

In today’s world, everyone needs some good marketing. They make you look and sound appealing to the public so that you can go about your sinful little day without worry. But like a good lawyer, a good marketing company is hard to find.
There are a lot of them out there, and as someone who worked on many campaigns, I’ve noticed how difficult it is to work with 324 people who are all separate entities for one big mission: to get you out to the public nicely. One person sets up a website, another designs it, another does advertising, yet another one consults you on exactly what needs to be done, a fifth to get you stationary, etc. With so many people working together yet separately, it is difficult for you or your company to really succeeds, since everyone is stepping on each others toes. But there are a few different companies that do it all for you.
One such company is The Brainchild Group. This marketing company is a one-stop shop for all your marketing needs with services like advertising, design, consulting, as well as web development, Flash animation and much more.
The company has only been in existence since early 2007, yet has an impressive resume from a world famous Kung Fu master to a non-profit organization, and many more companies/ people. The company is located in Beverly Hills, CA, but with the power of the internet, it is simple for The Brainchild Group to work with people all over the world.
Aaron Schoenberger, founder and CEO of The Brainchild Group says “People just need an all in one marketing site. It’s more convenient.”
Unfortunately, like all other marketing companies, their services don’t come free. The services are pricey, but like Costco, if you buy in bulk it will be cheaper. If you are like most people who need some marketing, you will probably need a lot and you will be better off with companies like The Brainchild Group.
But, really, how bad can they be with a mascot like this?

Waiting Rooms of Political Apathy September 15, 2008

I need to know. Why does going to the orthodontist need to be a family affair? I took my little sister to the orthodontist yesterday so she can get her retainer refitted or something, and there was no place to sit or even stand! It was ridiculous. Now I understand that parents need to bring their other, younger children, but yesterday it was insane. There were both sets of parents for one child, a pair of parents and grandparents, and generally these large groups of people. Is this even necessary? NO.
And you know what I hate? These snot nosed stupid children don’t even give up their seats for older people. NOT EVEN THEIR OWN PARENTS/ GRANDPARENTS! I hate children.
But I at least I did have something to do. CNN was on the TV. There was a discussion about the 2 pundents from MSNBC not covering the elections, which I will go to in a lot more depth in a later blog in my media section. Then something about OJ and Ike and other nonsense. And then there was Palin.
So there is this Republican in the waiting room (this is Bensenhurst after all) with his 2 kids, the older one (who was not getting anything done) was about 16 years old. And the girl is looking at the comics in the Post. And the father is explaining that he wants Palin to get all the female votes and then she’ll win. And this girl, who will be old enough to vote by next pres. election, is so flipping clueless. Here is the conversation:
Girl: “Well I don’t like Obama, I like Hilary.”
Dad: “Hilary is not running.”
G: “She dropped out?”
D: “Yes, a while ago, she had to give up her nomination.”
G: “Oh, I didn’t know that. Is Obama a Republican or a Democrat?”
WHAT? One: It’s been months since she dropped out, and weeks after the Democratic Convension. Two: HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW THE POLITICAL PARTY OF THE (POSSIBLE) FUTURE PRESIDENT??????
Political Apathy is going to be the end of all of us. Although I would not want the girl to vote because I don’t agree with her, I still think she should vote. This is why polticians don’t pay attention to the youth. They are so clueless about what is going on. And frankly the media is not helping.
As I stood in the over crowded waiting room, I noticed exactly what was on the TV. At least it was not Fox News, but it was still pretty bad. WHY THE FUCK DO THEY NEED TO TALK FOR HALF AN HOUR ABOUT PUNDITS????? This is why people are so apathetic towards politics. It’s because the news stations spend all of their time talking about bullshit instead of actual important events that are taking place in the world. You know why those two guys aren’t covering the elections? It’s not because they can’t get along with each other or because they are bias or whatever. IT’S BECAUSE THEY ARE GOING TO REHAB! They are so coked up that someone finally said something and they are going to get clean. The sourced that leaked this out was anonymous, so I’m not sure exactly how much to trust it, but it makes more sense then ANYTHING else.
In other countries around the world, there is a lot of international news on TV. Pakistan TV will spend at least half of their news programs on international news. As will European countries, or anything else. But in America, we have such blatant disregard for anyone else, that we will spend 30 minutes talking about nonsense that doesn’t really need to be talked about.
This is were the apathy comes in. As Americans, we just spend all our time watching stupidity, even in the news. I’ve stopped watching CNN, but after yesterday, it actually makes me angry at what they are broadcasting to people. Yes, it is what people want to see, because we would much rather gossip about fairly famous people then hear about what is going on around the world, but channels like CNN don’t really give us a chance to see anything else.
So that’s my rant. I’ll be celebrating my 21st Birthday tomorrow, send all birthday gifts to my house, please no CODs.
